"The underside and what's inside", curator: Katerina Sokolovskaya, Third place, St. Petersburg, 2021
Above an anthill in the forest, a camera is installed — a symbol of surveillance capitalism, where everyday life becomes a source of data, and surveillance technologies serve as tools for control and behavior prediction. The visual resemblance of the pseudo-camera, made from penoplex and acrylic plaster, to a real surveillance device creates tension between the natural and the artificial. It highlights how surveillance technologies become an integral part of daily life, infiltrating even the most unexpected spaces — from urban environments to nature.
